Dromation

An engineering and development initiative exploring the interaction between mechanics, electronics, signals, sensing, software, control and motion.

01 / About

Engineering new paths.

Dromation is an applied mechatronics, engineering and technology development initiative. The name draws inspiration from the ancient Greek word dromos (δρόμος) — path, course and movement — together with modern ideas of motion and automation.

Our work is not restricted to a single product category. We investigate engineering problems across physical systems, sensing, information, computation, control and actuation, and develop practical tools, prototypes and open-source projects where appropriate.

02 / Engineering

Applied mechatronics.

Dromation combines disciplines rather than treating them as isolated components. Development is supported by structured engineering methods including risk analysis, FMEA, verification, validation and quality-oriented product development.

03 / Projects

Selected work.

Projects are selected according to the engineering problem rather than a single industry. Some are open source, some experimental, and others remain research or prototype work.

04 / Technology Commons

Engineering for public benefit.

Dromation Technology Commons is a public-benefit space for engineering projects intended to help people, communities and organisations through accessible, collaborative and practical technology.

Projects can be proposed for review before they become part of Technology Commons. The purpose of review is to understand the real problem, intended beneficiaries, technical feasibility, openness, maintainability and whether Dromation can meaningfully help.

Submit for Technology Commons review

This form prepares a project proposal for review. Submission does not automatically make a project part of Dromation Technology Commons.

The static website does not store form data. Pressing the button opens your e-mail application with the proposal prepared for sending to Dromation.

05 / Research

Advanced & exploratory work.

Dromation also explores scientific and engineering fields that may contribute to future sensing, computation, control and mechatronic systems.

  • advanced sensing principles
  • unconventional signal detection
  • materials and physical behaviour
  • electromagnetic phenomena
  • vibration and wave phenomena
  • quantum-mechanical phenomena with potential engineering applications
  • advanced computation and signal processing
  • experimental measurement methods

Exploratory ideas are kept separate from validated engineering solutions. A concept becomes a technology only when it can be measured, tested, reproduced and translated into a practical system.

06 / Vision

From physical phenomena to useful action.

Dromation explores how signals and physical behaviour can be sensed, understood, controlled and transformed into useful engineering outcomes — from microscopic effects to machines and autonomous systems.

SENSE → UNDERSTAND → CONTROL → MOVE
07 / Open Engineering

Help us improve our open-source code.

Some Dromation projects are public because engineering improves when different technical perspectives can question assumptions, find problems and propose better solutions.

Review the public code, report bugs, open an issue, improve documentation or submit a pull request. This invitation applies only to publicly released open-source projects — not to Dromation websites, servers, accounts or other infrastructure.
